Comments about The Gathering '98

The guestbook was becoming pretty big, so I moved all January-postings to a new file.

All February-postings has been moved it's own file as well.

These are the comments we have recieved about TG98 in February

It was a great party!!! Personaly I will compare it with the time that I was a Russ. Svart-russ-97!!! But the best part is that it is every year!!! It was a lot of sexy, beautiful and handsome guys there!!! I was interviewd by Tv-Norge, I came in 4th. place in the babicious contest, The security crew "arrested" me for drinking, I was a pain in the ass for everyone with my newely bought laser, (security took that also in the end) and I made alot of new friends. So I think it was a big success!!!! Big greetings to: YATZY (my beloved boyfriend), quack-thanks for the timeon your computer arcade-nice program The guy who sold me the tv-camera and laser aleks-thanks for comforting me when yatzy didn't show up But most of all: FUCK THE CREW (SECURITY)

hi...just wanted to say that tg98 sucked. in many ways, the most important one being that nothing worked very much at my row. also all the people with large speakers sucked, I don't understand what they were doing there at all. another important issue is the quakers. they really ruined tg for many of the sceners I spoke to. many sceners who'll never come back. so, I guess it's your choice... a Gathering with or without sceners....

Well! .. We got places on a bus on monday.. and today (tuesday) we got tickets.. things are going real well.. :))) .. who said that things wouldn't sort out in the end?

Now if there could be some way to limit quake-bandwith to just one-tenth or something, TG will perhaps be quite exciting.. :)

Oh well.. I sure hope there will be some great compos this year! .. (like the wild-compos last year, for those who remember.. :))

As I have attended all the first 5 Gatherings, I feel that TG has become a place for 14 year old gamers, offering nothing but games and internet for 5 days. The original 'spirit' of the gathering is totally gone. I understand the economical reasons for this, but alas, it's a shame. I hope the entire amiga scene will show up this year to show the rotten pc scene who the demo scene belongs to. At any rate, keep the amiga spirit alive, and good luck with the productions. And please, someone fuck up the MS stand for me.

It's almost sad that I see comments like "Quake rules.. ban sceners from TG98!". Sceners are what started demoparties, sceners are what make demoparties, and I can assure you that at TG92, the emphasis was on the scene, not on "KICKING UR ASS IN QUAKE 2 NOT QUAKE 1 CUZ THAT BE SUCKING AND I RULE!!". That's just lame. Please, grow up and appreciate the heritage, rather than trying to overthrow it.

hmm....i read the competitions page here, and see that crusaders hasnt learned anything since last year. 20 pics in the graphic compo, and no limit in the wild. Does this strike anyone else as odd, after all a picture doesnt take that much time showing. why not do what was done in 94? Show 40 pics or so, because (as you clearly showed last year), you will never be close to creating a fair selection of pictures with only 20 to show.

If crusaders didnt already know this, there were several VERY displeased graphic artists last year.

It seems like I'm one of the very few who's attending TG98 because of the scene... After 9137841 postings from people claiming they either hate quake or rule it, it's about time someone from the scene writes the guestbook too...

I can't say I hate quake, because I've never played it. I can't say i'm a master fragger either, because... I've never played it. :)

So... If anyone can hear this cry of help... Where did all the sceners go?

The Lost Souls are probably releasing a kickass demo at TG98 so beware...

First of all, I'll have to complain 'bout all the Quake "stæsj" cause it's really getting to me, tha a great game like doom2 is not even mentioned around here. Doom2 is MUCH better than Quake in Multiplay. I hope there will be a Doom2 contest rather than a Quake contest.
