Arrival
When you arrive at The Viking Ship, Hamar, you will be met by The Gathering's Security crew. They work together with the local police, and have prepared a well functioning parking system based on many years of experience.
Please respect the instructions from Security. We have many participants who arrive at the same time and we cannot make exceptions for anyone.
Different traffic pattern
Because of The Gathering, there will be a changed traffic pattern in Hamar on Wednesday and Sunday. There will be French fences in the Åkervigsvegen in front of the main entrance to force all traffic to The Gathering trough the roundabout on Stangebrua and back in to Åkerviksveien, ending at the parking lot. This is to prevent queue creating problems for drivers on RV 222 and E6.
Arriving by car
At the parking lot you have two choices: short term and long term parking.
The Short term parking is best suited for a quick stop to unload. It is only allowed to stay parked at the site for 10 minutes, and the driver needs to be close to the car at all times.
The long term parking is best suited for the drivers who need access to their vehicle during the whole stay.
Caravans and cars with trailers can only park at the far south end of the parking lot. This has more space between the vehicles, but you can still unload the trailer and caravan at the short term parking when you arrive.
Arriving by bus, taxi or vehicle with special permit
Buses, taxis and other vehicles with special permit will be guided by our security crew to their own special area.
What about my equipment?
There will be a dedicated area where you can place your equipment while you register. It's not guarded, so it is left there at your own risk.
This area will be protected from rain if necessary.
Please keep in mind that this area may become full.
Please note that you have to take responsibility for your own equipment!
