World Cyber Games

We are this year very happy to announce that together with WCG Nordic we are hosting the Norwegian qualifiers for the World Cyber Games.

World Cyber Games is the biggest computer games festival in the world. And are often referred to as the Olympic Games of video games. This year the grand finals is in the famous Los Angels Convention Center. And thousands of players from all over the world will compete to get a taste of the Grand Finals this year.

At this years The Gathering you might get the chance to feel some of the World Cyber Games spirit. We will host the Norwegian qualifiers in three games, and every Norwegian at The Gathering 2010 have an opportunity to win a slot to the World Cyber Games Grand Finals in Los Angeles.

So how do i participate?

Counter-Strike 1.6:
By competing in The Gathering's own counter-strike 1.6 turnament, every Norwegian team is also competing about the slots to the Nordic Finals.

It is the best Norwegian team from the tournament that will get the slot to the Nordic Finals, that is hold later in the year. And the best team from the Nordic Finals win a paid trip to Los Angeles and the Grand Finals.

Trackmania Nations Forever:
To compete in the WCG qualifications you also have to compete in The Gathering's Trackmania tournament. It is the best 7 Norwegian players that will be able to compete in the WCG Norwegian qualifiers. Additionally can Fredrik "Bergie" Bergmann compete in the WCG qualification as he finished top 3 in last years Grand Finals.

The WCG qualification will take place after The Gathering's tournament is done. It will be played as double elimination playoff. 

1.place:
Wins a slot for the Grand finals in Los Angeles where contestant license, travel and hotel is covered. 

2.place:
Wins a slot for the Grand finals in Los Angeles, but have to pay for contestant license, travel and stay by himself. 

3.place:
Wins a slot for the Grand finals in Los Angeles, but have to pay for contestant license, travel and stay by himself.

WCG Nordic will hold their own tournament for Norwegian contestants during The Gathering 2010.

1.place:
Wins a slot for the Grand finals in Los Angeles where contestant license, travel and hotel is covered.

Wins a slot for the Grand finals in Los Angeles, but have to pay for contestant license, travel and stay by himself. 

3.place:
Wins a slot for the Grand finals in Los Angeles, but have to pay for contestant license, travel and stay by himself.
