Event is responsible for all competitions, stage shows and entertainment at The Gathering. This includes - but is not limited to - concerts, lectures, courses and random on-the-fly events. Event is also responsible for the building and dismantling of the technical equipment surrounding and involving the stage, and all the big screens we use. This includes the technical equipment used by creativia, activities, game, arena and productions.

Event:Activities
This is the crew that does all the fun stuff! Both on and behind the scenes. We do stage shows, come up with stupid competitions, act like morons, blow things up, have fun with crew, guests and artists all the time!

Of course, The Gathering is supposed to be fun and teach you new things, so we don't expect you to be an expert in every field. The Activity crew is ruled by the long time entertainment champion 7rym, and you can always be sure that you will get help and inspiration if you need.

...also, we like to hug! Hugging and helping others is an important part of being a good crew member. In the days before and after our guests come and go, we must specifically help out the stage crew rigging up and down the stage. At any time, we support and help any person, crew or guest, with a smile. We are the most visible crew of all, and affect the moods and experiences of everybody! So spread love and happiness, and be a beloved hero of The Gathering in return!

Are you ready to jump on the ship, work harder than ever, and bring out your inner hero?

Apply to Activity crew now!

Event:Arena

Event:Arena is responsible for the visual experience in the Viking ship, we will be handling the stage
design, including lighting, sound and AV, and the surrounding decorations.

We divide up our team by light engineers, sound engineers, riggers, decorators and decorations leader. You need to know, that if you apply for a special team, you will not be guaranteed a spot in that team. Your previous experience will have a great influence on which team you will be placed on.

Everybody is expected to help out when they are not needed on their own team. For the same reason,
we expect that everyone applying for Event:Arena, will be able to show up on the Saturday before the
party.

We have very high expectations to the stage design and the arena decoration, and we are very
determined to make it all happen. We need people that have similar expectations, and are determined to make the Event:Arena production the best ever!

Event:Creativia
Creativia is responsible for activities related to the demoscene, and other creative activities at TG. We host prestigious competitions, courses and lectures where you can learn new skills, and provides for an inclusive social environment around the creative activity in and outside the TG. Creativia is seeking new members for TG10. One of our biggest areas of investment this year is improving the information-flow so that as many as possible get to know about contests and events that Creativia arrange. We are looking for journalists who want to work with Creativia both before and during the TG. If this does not fit for you at all, feel free to search even though you have a different idea of use you can be in Creativia!

If you've got any questions regarding Event:Creativia, don't hesitate to contact Anders aka Duckers (duckers[at]outracks.net).

Event:Game
Every year The Gathering organizes game competitions with both international qualifications and big cash prizes, and it's important that we have the best administrators possible.

We want people who have knowledge in the tournament form in one or more of these games and who have a thorough knowledge of the rules. In several of the games there are different rules from tournament to tournament. It's important to carefully study the rules that we use at The Gathering 2010, and to be able to act on the basis of these. Any person applying must handle time pressure and hectic activity level well. It is also important to be able to make decisions that are consistent with the rules, that in some cases seem strict. An example of this can be to deny a team to play because of late attendance. Everybody who applies must be able to take such decisions. There is 16 years age limit for applying to the event: game and past experience must be documented.

Event:Productions

Event:Productions main task during The Gathering, will be to visually document what actually goes on at The Gathering. This includes, but is not limited to: Auditorium, Videos for Web, the Live Stream and happenings at TG. It will be hard work, but also a lot of FUN. In a lot of ways, we will be like a small TV-station - so we need a lot of different people to achieve our goals. This is a unique opportunity to try and work, like a real TV-station does.

We need people that has TV/Film/Broadcast experience, camera operators, sound engineers, auditorium hosts, productions assistant and people to producing video-content for the website.
