Creative Kickoff!
Today we kicked off the creative competitions by presenting the first two categories, and attempting the third. Read on to find out more!
The first two creative competitions were presented from the stage today, to a large turnout of eager participators. The first two categories presented from the stage were the MS Paint competition and the Photo competition, and especially the MS Paint category boasted some downright amazing contributions this year! This young compo, only in its second year of existence, was immensely popular this year.
Contributions from the competitions can be download from The Gathering ftp for closer inspection. Also note that each file will be named according to its entry number, so that you can vote for the correct image. You can vote by sending TG10PAINT or TG10PHOTO followed by the entry number to 1938. This service costs NOK 3.
Technical Difficulties
Unfortunately the third competition we were going to present this evening, the Fast Remix competition, was plagued by some crippling technical difficulties that made the compo crew finally decide that it was better to postpone the competition than delay it any longer. The full competition will be re-run tomorrow at midnight, in its entirety. This also means that the demo show entitled "State of the Art" will be postponed for half an hour.
It is always a good idea to consult our schedule and/or our Creativia twitter account for the most up-to-the-minute information on any changes or important info that we want you to know.
Unfortunately the Freestyle Video competition did not receive enough quality entries, and was cancelled in accordance with the regulations.

Scene.org Awards is an annual event where the best demoscene productions from the last year are celebrated and awarded. The Gathering has been a proud sponsor of this event for many years, and TG-participants have followed the show over a video link. Next year the event will take place in the Vikingship!
