The Norwegian Olympiad in Informatics (NIO)

Are you interested in programming? Do you like logic, mathematics and problem solving? In that case, you might be interested in the Norwegian Olympiad in Informatics (NIO)!

NIO is a programming contest for college and high school students (anyone below university level). It is algorithmic in nature - that is, the goal is to produce programs that solve hard problems as efficiently as possible. The qualification tasks (available in Norwegian only) can be downloaded from our web pages, and the participants work with the tasks at home and submit program code and optional documentation by February 28.

The tasks come in varying degrees of difficulty, so there are challenges for both experienced demo scene coders as well as newbies. The finals are held in Trondheim. The winners of the finals will qualify for the International Olympiad in Informatics, which this year will take place in Ontario, Canada! For more information about the contest (such as the scoring system), consult our web pages.
