: A request to TG is that they put on their own quake(world)
: server so that there isn't that many listen servers.
: I think this improves the network situation a bit, and it will
: satisfy all us who travell all the way to TG just
: to play quake.

I think you may have a very good point here. Or you may not.
Do you look upon this solution to the problem with slow network
speed as a solution out of respect for the other people at the
party, that actually use the net for constructive purposes, or
do you look at it as a solution so that you and other quake posses
can get more speed for yourself to enjoy?
If you say this from the view of beeing helpful and have a
attitude of respect towards the other attenders of the party, I
totally agree with you. There should be two separate nets at
TG98, one for people who only come to play Quake and similar
games, and one for people that use it for internet, and other
purposes. I think it would please both sides of interest very much.

But if you say this just to promote an attitude of selfishness, and
your only purpose is to take most of the net capacity and use it for
your pleasures and others displeasure, then its a matter of a totally
different case. I think both sides (people who come to tg98 to quake,
and anti-quakers) have a natural permission to be there, but it would
be very nice if they respected each others, and shared the resources
among them fairly.

Maybe it is impossible for the tech-crew to put up two different
networks with the kind of resources they have available, so
we'll have to live with that. On the other side it would be a
cheerful delight to have two separate networks.

: This is of course quake1 servers.

Why?

: Quake will survive..
: NoT

You said it yourself.. "not"!
