Harald Zwart supports The Gathering

The Norwegian Hollywood-director Harald Zwart supports the organizers of The Gathering in their struggle to be accepted as a cultural happening.

– If Norway shall have a cultural life, it needs to have a broad cultural life. Just see how dependent top-level sports are to recreational sports. A small specter of cultural life seems alienating, says Zwart.

At the time, Zwart is busy with the work on the film Pink Panther 2, with stars like Steve Martin, John Cleese and Andy Garcia. Home in Norway his Norwegian film Lange Flate Ballær II, which seems to blow all records at the cinemas, just had its premiere.

– Also, the competence developed at environments like this is important both for the film industry and the gaming industry, who have already become a cultural area in Norway, Zwart finishes.
