disapointed and ashamed

Sometimes I get really pissed, not often. But sometimes, and there usually is a REALLY good reason for it. Like when I spoke to XCENE/DANCE today, and he told me that invitation#1 was out. "Ok, fair enough" I thought, he DCC'ed me the intro, and I must admit I was abit suprised when he sendt me only the executable. He explained to me that there was no archive, and there sure as h*** were no file_id.diz nor invitation text file. Then I sat down to look at the invitation. And I feel somewhat obliged to say (and I think i speak on the behalf of EVERYONE) when i say that the last years Invitation from digital predators sucked badly. I thougth that their skills had to be improved over a year. I WAS SO WRONG. After watching (the soundless) "invitation intro" my impression was that THIS HAD TO BE A JOKE. I mean, simple motion blur line algorythms, starfields, sine table scrollers and an UGLY TG98 logo. and NO INFORMATION ABOUT TG98 of any value AT ALL, i'd rather not MENTION the M I X E D C A S E in the scroll-text. Is this what the norwegian scene has to offer? I don't think so. I think that Digital Predators should be ashamed of themselves and so should TG98 organizers for saying that this was "ok". This is NOT the real spirit for scene parties, and it certainly does not make us REAL sceners look good towards other scene countries. I am deeply embarrased. And I truely hope that this "intro" didnt scare away our foreign friends (though, I would understand them). But there's still hope. Within a few weeks the REAL invitation for The Gathering 1998 will be released. Not any Wired'97 invitation, but atleast an informative invitation, that gives you locations and general information, and doesnt look like a complete mess. Go ahead webmaster. Cencor me!
