Here are some steps you can follow to join The Gathering 1999 team, and
help us mark TG as a signifcant participator in the RC5-project.1.) You need the client to crunch numbers, this you download from
this the two links following :a) TG99-client (Win32-systems only), or
if you have a different operativesystem, like linux/solaris/macOS/BeOS/freeBSD/Dec
Unix/dos/SCO/VMS, you can follow the link to distributed.net's os-detector, and
find a client suited for your system, after this you can download a settings-file here and import that
into your client.
2.) Open your internet connection and run the client software. If all goes well, the
client will fetch the specified amount of blocks and starts number-crunching.
Note that you normally only need an open internet connection for flushing and fetching
blocks, the client will remain working in the background when not connected.
3.) Remember to have rc5@gathering.org as
the email in your client-settings. This will make participating a whole lot easier. Now
you art a part of the "The Gathering 1999 team".
4.) Now that you are up and running, you can
send a mail to rc5@gathering.org to get your name and addy
on the Gather to Break
page.
This projects pages also have a overview of the members and their rates at the RC5-stats-pages,
you can also easily find the TG99 team top 10 (REALTIME!).
5.)After this you MUST adjust these settings as fast as you
can. The email in use should be "rc5@gathering.org", and there is a new
keyserver (proxy) to be used for those crunching for the TG99-team;
Host: rc5.gathering.org
Port: 2064
Those who still wishes to use their own email, can still do so, but please
use this proxy so we one day can develop some kind of stats-page. |
