Starcraft II is the sequel to StarCraft: Brood War, one of the biggest games in E-Sports history. The game was launched 27th July 2010, but even in the beta-version, large tournaments were held. Since the launch, the interest in StarCraft 2 has increased, and one of the highlights in the west was DreamHack Winter 2011 with Day[9] as an announcer. Later, big Korean names from Brood War times entered the StarCraft 2 universe. Last year, the expansion "Heart of the Swarm" (HOTS) was released, expanding upon the popular game.

Match Settings

3.1 All Tournament matches must be played in ‘Melee’ mode

3.2 All Tournament matches must be played on speed setting ’7 – Fastest’.

3.3 Players may change their races at any time before a match, but not after the count-down has started.

3.4 Replay setting must be set to: Save All Replays

3.5 Only official admins, streamers and casters are allowed as spectators during the match. All streamers must receive approval before the match. The delay on the stream must be at least 3 (three) minutes. If an unauthorized caster/spectator is streaming/watching a match it will result in a remake and excluding them from casting any games that Tournament Day.

Maps

  • Alterzim Stronghold TE
  • Habitation Station LE
  • Heavy Rain
  • King Sejong station LE
  • Merry Go Round LE
  • Overgrowth LE
  • Waystation

4.1 Players will veto maps until there are 3 maps left for a BO3, 5 maps left for a BO5 and 7 maps for a BO7. High seed chooses who starts to veto.

4.2 The players will then veto out of the chosen maps until there is only one map left, this will be the starting map. After this loser picks next map.

Disconnect/Pause

5.1 If a player disconnects from the game, a pause must be taken immediately and give the other player a chance to reconnected (max 15 min). Admin(s) must be notified right away.

5.2 If 15 minutes have passed and the player is still waiting for his opponent to reconnect, the player can request a walkover on the map they are currently playing.

5.3 If a disconnect happens an admin will set up a lobby to resume the game from re-play, unless the game can be clearly decided in favour of one player. If one player has clearly won the match, the administrator may award the winning player a victory for that map.

5.4 No Show / Walkover

5.4.1 If an opponent has not shown up at the announced time, you must notify an admin as soon as possible.

5.4.2 Try to get a hold of the opponent – If 10 minutes have passed and you still have not heard from him/her contact the admin again and you may be given a walkover.

5.4.3 If the match has not started after 15 minutes and no player has informed an admin about walkover, the admin may demand the match be changed to a Best of 1 match to avoid delay in the tournament.

5.5 Bugs/Cheats

5.5.1 Bugs being exploited or cheating is not tolerated and will result in a warning. If a player receives more than one warning during the tournament it will lead to disqualification.

5.6 Change in rules

5.6.1 Changes to rules will be announced in Challonge. Please note that the player is responsible for staying up to date with all current rules.
