General Rules

These are the general rules that apply to all the creative competitions at The Gathering 2014.

By submitting an entry to the creative competitions at The Gathering, you confirm that you accept these rules.

Right to participate

All participants, sponsors and crew members at The Gathering can participate in the creative competitions.

How do participate?

  • All entries must be submitted through the web-based compo system before the compo-specific deadline.
  • Your entry must be handed in as a zip or rar file that contains all the required files for the competition.
  • You and/or your group must create all the content of the entry by yourself.
  • Entries that are previously released cannot enter any competition at The Gathering.

How do I get my entry shown?

Remember that the competitions are intended as entertainment. Therefore, please create content that is suitable for everyone.

If a competition gets less than three entries, the competition will be cancelled or merged with a similar competition.

The Creativia crew reserves the right to decide which entries will be shown.

You will get feedback on your entries via the compo system. It is your own responsibility to check the compo system for messages.

We will not show entries containing the following:

  • Illegal, offensive or unpleasant content.
  • Copyrighted material used without explicit permission from the copyright holders.
  • Entries that do not demonstrate a significant amount of creativity or effort.

How do I win?

Competition results will be determined by popular vote, jury votes or a combination. In competitions with combined votes, the jury vote will count as 1/3, while the popular vote counts as 2/3.

If your entry is so good that you win a prize, you MUST attend the prize giving ceremony in order to recieve your prize.

Publication of entries

The Gathering reserves a non-exclusive right to publish all participating entries. This includes distribution via the Internet, or on any other media we see fit, including ftp.gathering.org. Therefore, please do not include any private information in your archive.
