Super Smash Bros

Super Smash Brothers Melee is  a fighting game for the Nintendo GameCube, and is the successor to Super Smash Brothers on the Nintendo 64. The unique mechanism plays out by damaging your opponent, then knocking him off the stage before he knocks you off. It was released in 2001, and it is the most sold game for the Nintendo GameCube due to its thorough and amazing multiplayer mode and longevity. The game still has an active community across the world.

The Tournament at The Gathering 2013.

Mads André Valderhaug, aka Zalvador, will hold the Super Smash Brothers Melee tournament through the “Create your own tournament” feature at TG this year.

SSBM is played on TVs and GameCubes, and will be found in the game area. Since you don’t need to bring any gear, there is no excuse to not join the compo! The TVs are located on the main floor right beneath the spectator seats between the main stage and game desk.

The entire competition will be played in one day, on Saturday the 30th and  will be a single elimination bracket, one vs one. The entire bracket will be divided into four smaller brackets, where the winner from each bracket will be the semi-finalist.

Prizes (value both in cash and gear):
1st    3000 NOK
2nd   2000 NOK
3rd    1000 NOK

The registration for this tournament closes on Friday 29th at 23:59.

More information on the tournament may be found in the official forum thread on The Gathering forums.
