Programming Seminars Thursday
Today, we are presenting three seminars related to programming - all from the main stage.
Programming For Beginners
Programming For Beginners is held by Liam S. Crouch at 13:55, and is an introduction to programming in object-oriented languages, specifically Java. It will explore principles and simple examples to get you started in programming.
Liam won the Best Newcomer Award at The Gathering 2011, as well as took 3rd place in the Game Development competition at the same event with his game Caveman.
Demo Programming in XNA
Petri Wilhelmsen from Microsoft will hold the seminar Demo Programming In XNA at 14:50. If you're curious about programming demos, curious about XNA, or both - show up and let Petri show you what it's all about.
Petri is the Developer Community Manager for Microsoft Norway, and has a long history of attendance at The Gathering - where he has competed in the demo competition multiple times.
Game Development For Beginners
Liam S. Crouch returns at 15:45 for his seminar on Game Development for beginners. This seminar is a continuation on his seminar from earlier today, and builds on the same bulding blocks. During the seminar, you will learn how the special starter kit that has been put together works, and it will explore how to make simple games from scratch.
After the seminars, you can naturally come to the Creative Lounge and get further help and guidance from our mentors. We hope to see your contributions based on what you learn here for years to come.
