Last years winner of the "Best Newcomer Award" and 3rd place winner of the Game Development competition will be the speaker at the seminar "Programming in Java for Beginners" at The Gathering this year!

In this seminar you will

  • Learn programming from scratch, in a object-oriented programming language, Java
  • Learn basic concepts, such as variables, objects, loops, and If-conditions

This seminar will teach you everything you need to be able to play with Java, and how you set up a Integrated Development Environment(IDE). You will also get a sneak peek in visual Java-programming

After the seminar, you can also get help from our mentors to learn more. We hope to see you show off what you've learned in one (or more!) of our programming competitions.

Game development for beginners

  • Learn how you can make other types of games from scratch
  • Learn how to make basic platform games in Java with help from the Starter kit put together for this seminar

"Sync like a DUBstar (How we hardcoded sync in We Crave Sustance)"

This seminar will enable you to add some wicked sync to that awesome demo you are working on.

In this seminar

You will learn to avoid the common pitfalls of syncing audio and graphics, and learn some basic math that can be applied when syncing.
You will also help Thomas sync a simple object show
