The story behind what you read

Suddenly written information appears! This is how it works behind the scenes.

Ever wondered where all the information on the Gathering web pages comes from? Who writes the articles in the NewsGathering? Trained monkeys or nerds with a love for propaganda? We’re set to find out and get some answers!

Info:Content covers all the official news channels during TG. All the information we get from the TG homepage, the billboard etc. has been through here. Their main areas of work are the web pages, the TG newspaper and the giant billboard.

There are 11 people in the Content-crew, 7 of them are journalists and 3 are graphic artists, in addition to a guy that makes sure everyone do what they’re supposed to. Their work is to let you know what’s going on in the ship. To do this, they work closely with the other crews.

What kind of qualifications do you need to work at Info:Content? The journalists need to be able to write well, don’t be afraid to ask questions and be able to master both the Norwegian and the English language, due to the multilingual web pages. The graphic artists need to be adept at graphical work and know how to use the tools.

For Info:Content the work starts already in September-October. The home page needs to be up and running before the ticket sale opens to get the information out to curious TG participants. Even after we’ve gone home, the crew keeps on working, to get results etc. published.

Eight hours of work every day, working both before and after TG and pushing deadlines does not stop these people; they seem both happy and cheerful. The leader tells me he likes this work a lot and those who work here are always nice.

Summed up, we can say that Info:Content is a group for people who works hard to make sure we get funny, interesting and relevant news, keep the TG-pages up to date and see to that Medic and Security get their message through on the billboard. Also; one of the graphic artists has designed the posters you can see around the ship.

Mystery is solved, and it included no monkeys.
