Take a photo of something that looks awesome, beautiful or inspiring.

Rules

  1. Hand-in

    Entries in the demo competition must be delivered through the web-based compo system.

    If you really want to make us happy, please hand in a ZIP or RAR file containing the entry itself, and a short text file (file_id.diz/.nfo/.txt) with information about the entry as well as contact info.

  2. Allowed formats

    • PNG (.png)
    • JPEG (.jpg/.jpeg)

    We recommend that you deliver your entry as PNG, as it is a lossless format. If you want to deliver your entry as JPEG that's naturally fine with us, but don't be cheap on the quality setting.

  3. Retouching

    Minor retouching (color/white balance, cropping and similar) in photo editing software is allowed, but keep it real. This is a photo compo, not a photo manipulation compo.

  4. Originality

    This should go without saying, but you must obviously have taken the photo itself to participate. Submitting a picture you found on the internet is not ok.

  5. Pre-selection

    A jury will select a maximum of 25 pictures to be displayed during the show. The jury's decicion is final, and there is no room for appeals.

    Pictures not selected for the show can not be voted for.

  6. Deciding a winner

    The winner will be chosen by combining the results from the popular vote with a jury vote. The popular vote will account for 67% of the total score, and the jury vote will account for 33%.

  7. Number of entries per participant

    One entry per participant. Co-productions are allowed. If multiple people cooperate on a picture, neither will be allowed to hand in other pictures.

  8. No-go limit

    The compo will be held if we receive 3 or more entries. If not, this compo may be cancelled.

  9. General rules

    The general rules for the Gathering 2009 creative competitions apply to this compo.
