Rules

  1. Hand-in

    Entries for this competition must be delivered through the web-based compo system. When you submit your entry you must state what program you have used for the entry.

    If you really want to make us happy, please hand in a ZIP or RAR file containing the entry itself, and a short text file (file_id.diz/.nfo/.txt) with information about the entry as well as contact info.

  2. Allowed formats

    • PNG (.png)
    • JPEG (.jpg/.jpeg)
    • BMP (.bmp)

  3. Allowed tools

    You should obviously use MS Paint for this compo (Start -> run -> mspaint). If you do not have Windows installed, you are allowed to use any program that complies with these limitations:

    • No support for anti-aliased brushes
    • No support for gradients
    • No more than 10 undo-steps
    • No support for layers or blending

    If we suspect you've been using other programs for your drawing, we will demand that you to demonstrate your awesome MS Paint skills live for the entire crew. Failing to perform will result in ridicule and disqualification. But seriously, are you so low that you would want to cheat in an MS Paint-compo?

  4. Pre-selection

    A jury will select a maximum of 25 pictures to be displayed during the show. The jury's decicion is final, and there is no room for appeals.

    Pictures not selected for the show can not be voted for.

  5. Deciding a winner

    The winner will be decided by popular vote.

  6. Number of entries per participant

    One entry per participant. Co-productions are allowed. If multiple people cooperate on a picture, neither will be allowed to hand in other pictures.

  7. No-go limit

    The compo will be held if we receive 3 or more good entries. If not, this compo may be cancelled.

  8. General rules

    The general rules for the Gathering 2009 creative competitions apply to this compo.
